Folds of Honor of Northern Indiana Invites our community to get involved for Our Military Heroes’ Children


Northwest Indiana Committee Up-Date, May 2016 – Children of deployed service members are particularly vulnerable to stresses and trauma related to a parents serving in a combat zone for an extended period of time. Repeat deployments, the loss of parents and parents suffering from combat-related injuries have dramatically impacted our children. As a nation, it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to support military families. 

The Folds of Honor Foundation is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing primary, secondary and college education scholarships for the children of military service men and women who have been wounded or killed while serving our great nation. The Foundation is a 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Organization – Tax ID: 75-3240683.

The local chapter of the organization, Folds of Honor of Northwest Indiana, is hosting a series of events to assist the Foundation in funding scholarships for the children of America’s fallen and disabled heroes from northwest Indiana. Over the past 5 years the NWI Committee has been able to make donations to the Foundation of over $100,000.

Numerous golf outings across Northern Indiana:

Eagle Glen Golf Club – Columbia City, IN & Cross Creek Golf Club – Decatur, IN – July 23 Sandy Pines in DeMotte – July 28th starting at 2 PM CDT

The Course at Aberdeen in Valparaiso – August 14 starting at 1 PM CDT

Swan Lake Resorts in Plymouth – August 28th starting at 2 PM EDT

Championship Round to be played at Sandy Pines – September 1:30 PM CDT

 

October 1st3rd annual Sapper 6 Memorial 5K Run in Valparaiso on October 1st in honoring six members of the National Guard’s Valparaiso based 713th Combat Engineers killed in Afghanistan in 2012.

Fall SemesterChesterton’s Middle School will be hosting a Veterans Day Fund Raising Program in support of the Folds of Honor Foundation.
