Friends of Folds of Honor (NWI), is comprised of a group of citizens within our community that organizes fundraising efforts to generate awareness and support of a very worthy cause – The Folds of Honor Foundation (  This a national organization that funds educational scholarships for children and spouses whose military parent or spouse has been killed or disabled in the line of duty.  Patriot Golf Day ( was created by its founder specifically for this purpose.  Our first two Patriot Golf Day events at The Course at Aberdeen in 2011 – 2013 were extremely successful – ranking within the top 10 and 25 in the nation amongst over 4,500 participating golf facilities.  We have donated over $65,000 to the Foundation because of your willingness to get involved.  This year, we are once again expanding activities to include more public events throughout the NWI community.  We would like to invite you along with your business, family and friends, to join us at some of the following:

January 26th at 4:00 PM at don Quijote’s Restaurante at 119 E. Lincolnway in Valparaiso will be the host for a 1940’s USO Inspired Charity Dinner. Our host will be providing a 5 course dinner including Prime Rib and Salmon paired with wine for each course. We will have raffles and various other activities including the take home of the special wine available at don Quijote’s. Our evening with be enhanced by a performance by the highly acclaimed singing group “String of Pearls” as they take us back to the music of the 1940’s when the sing selections from the Big Band era and the sounds of the Andrews Sisters. A treat for all and don Quijote’s become a USO Club for the evening. The cost for the dinner is $150 per couple and active military and veterans are $100 per couple. If you can not join us for this wonderful evening a donation of $100 will allow us to invite some of our Veteran and Active Duty community to attend as your guest.

February will find us hosting a series of Bowling Events in the Lowell area for both youth bowling teams and adult teams. SGT Jody Roberts will be our Wingman for this activity and we are honored to have an active member of the Indiana National Guard’s 113th Engineer Battalion assist us.

Patriot Day Golf – Tour and Concert events will be listed for 2014 later on in the year.
